This is one way of popularizing the names and faces of political prisoners in Iran.
Materials (one for each prisoner):
- 8.5 x 11 white cardstock
- 8.5 x 11 printer paper
- 3-holed transparent plastic paper holder (for students’ folders)
- ~1 ft of string or ribbon, or 2 safety pins
To print all the 9 prisoners shown, download two pdfs: the 9 faces shown and all the signs here. Or download individually from the image and links in the right column. You can also download these instructions.
Print the prisoner face on 8.5x11 cardstock and cut out in an oval shape.
Print the prisoner “booking sign” on stock paper. To put your own text into the “booking sign” template, download and edit Word doc Sample Prisoner Sign.
Insert printed sign into the 3-holed paper holder, put a string through the holes and tie it at a comfortable length to wear the sign around your neck, about 1 ft.
To wear it on back of head
This option has an advantage of not covering up your eyes and shirt in the front, while providing a breathable protective mask for health. The prisoner face goes on the BACK of your head and the sign with their name should be hanging on your back. Staple a surgical face mask to the back side of the face and pull it over your head so that the face mask covers your mouth and nose, while the prisoner’s face is displayed on the back of your head.
Hang the sign around your neck so it hangs on your back or pin it to the back of your shirt.
